HP recommends running the ProBook 640 G2 on Windows 10 Pro operating system, but you can downgrade to Windows 7.
The notebook comes with the usual ports and slots for similar offerings, including USB 3.0 ports and a USB Type-C port. Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, LTE modem and optional NFC are available for wireless connectivity, depending on model.
According to its maker, the HP ProBook 640 G2 is for “executive-class” collaboration. It features HP Noise Cancellation Software, optional Skype for Business and an HD webcam. Dual integrated stereo speakers and HD Audio with DTS Studio Sound hold promise of respectable sound.
HP EliteBook 820 G1 units are fitted with powerful processors, with users having the option of choosing between an Intel Core i3, Core i5, or Core i7 processors. The chip is backed by an Intel HD Graphics 4400 processor for graphics.
A RAM of 4GB is provided on the standard model, with 8GB memory available on the model with Intel Core i7 processor. In all, the HP EliteBook 820 G1 can take up to 16GB of RAM. Obviously because of business users’ preference for Windows 7, the laptop comes pre-installed with that operating system, but users who prefer Windows 8 can buy models with Windows 8 Pro.

The Precision M3800 is Dell’s take on the ‘Ultrabook’ portable workstation notebook. It’s made from a mixture of materials, and has an undersized battery in order to stay fashionably trim. In its favour, the quad-core processor and midrange pro-certified graphics chipset provide useful performance, and without too much histrionics from the cooling fans. This year’s model now has a UHD 4K display although this still serves to exaggerate problems in some Windows programs, while the overly reflective touchscreen facility results in a heavier panel with poorer viewing that drains the battery faster.

utfitted with a 2.4-GHz Intel 520M processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 7,200-rpm, 500GB hard drive, the 8440p fared well on our tests. Its score of 5,552 on PCMark Vantage was about 1,500 points above the category average.
While it's no SSD, the 7,200-rpm hard drive booted into Windows 7 Professional (32-bit) in a speedy 44 seconds. That's about 15 seconds below average, and 1 second better than the T410. Its file transfer speed of 29.6 MBps was also comfortably above average (23.5 MBps)
